A larger-than-usual revision to the international trade in goods statistics is oncoming to the March 2025 external trade export data

Due to problems detected in the data systems, there will be a larger revision than usual to the Finnish Customs' International trade in goods statistics regarding the external trade values of exports for March 2025.

The revision will be reflected in the Uljas statistical database in connection with the publication of the April monthly statistics on 27th June 2025 as a larger revision of the detailed figures for March. The revision of external trade data will also affect the total value of exports and the trade balance for March 2025 to a greater extent than usual.

The April preliminary statistics release on 5th June 2025 has already largely taken into account the addition of the value of March's external trade exports, but the information will still be refined in connection with the compilation of detailed statistical data.

Finnish Customs' international trade in goods statistics are revised statistics, in which the data is supplemented monthly throughout the open and the current statistical year, retroactively until the closing of the statistical year. The statistical year is always closed in connection with the monthly statistics in August following the statistical year. Typically, the data is supplemented most between the publication of preliminary statistics and detailed data and in the month following the statistical month.
